From the depths of Sheol, to the heart of Shalom, we’ll stand strong together, we will never be alone

Walked out of Mardel’s yesterday holding the new Pillar, Skillet, Kutless albums, as well as Flatfoot 56’s CD. So far, not a one of them has been disappointing. I was saddened by the fact that Mardel’s was sold out of Decyfer Down’s album, and frankly I looked everywhere I could think for the Mutemath CD. Didn’t find it at all. Very Strange. On to some first impressions. Bear in mind I’ve had maybe 1-2 chances to listen to these CDs start to finish thus far.

Flatfoot 56 is pure raw Celtic punk that doesn’t disappoint start to finish. Go listen if you think you might enjoy that rather weird sound, I think you’ll like it.

Skillet it seems went a different direction than Collide. Comatose is less metal and more melodic, themes seem to be more along the lines of completely and wholly seeking God in times of utter sorrow or pain.

Pillar on the other hand, is definitely incorporating more metal into their sound.

Hearts of the Innocent is a true Kutless album. If you like them, you’ll feel right at home with this one. If not, you’re not really gonna find any new change here.

Oh, and as promised…shaving cream fight pics!!
